There are several opportunities for you to donate to Catalyst Community and make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. We appreciate your continued support.
Healthy Bottom Line Diaper Bank – Our offices in Cameron Park and South Lake Tahoe have diaper banks that provide an emergency supply of diapers to families in need. We can always use donations of diapers in larger sizes, wipes or monetary donations.
Events
Kids’ Expo
Kids’ Expo is a free annual event in May for children and families at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville. Families enjoy hands-on activities and children’s performances. It is a great opportunity to spend a fun day with the family and learn about community resources. This event is supported by local sponsors and community donations. Day of the Young Child
Day of the Young Child is a free annual event in for children and families in South Lake Tahoe where families enjoy hands on activities. It is a great opportunity to spend a fun day with the family and learn about community resources. This event is supported by local sponsors and community donations. Community Gift Tree
This annual event in November is a collaboration between organizations in the community that serve low-income families and local businesses. Catalyst Community, the El Dorado County Office of Education, Happy Kids Preschool, CASA, and Alta Regional all select their neediest families to participate in the program. Gift cards that identify the needs and wishes of children are placed on trees throughout the community. Community members then select one or more cards, purchase gifts, and drop them off at convenient locations. We also accept monetary donations to provide supplemental gifts. Provider Brunch
Catalyst Community hosts an annual Child Care Provider Appreciation Brunch each year, (one on the Western Slope, and one in South Lake Tahoe), where local Early Childhood Educators enjoy a morning of recognition and education. Local business donations of in-kind for door prizes are deeply appreciated and show our childcare providers how their work is valued and supported. Cash donations are also needed and welcome to contribute to the cost of the educational guest speaker and breakfast costs.
Diaper Drive
In recognition of Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 18th– 24th, 2023, Catalyst Community will be conducting a diaper drive to provide clean diapers to families in need. Catalyst Community saw the need for a diaper bank in our community and started offering this as a resource to El Dorado County Families in 2015. Our organization relies on the generosity of our community to continue providing this resource. We are asking for monetary donations to support this drive as well as donations of diapers and wipes.
