Early Care and Education Classes
Visit our event calendar for professional development opportunities. Catalyst Community offers a variety of training opportunities throughout the year. Training topics may include Family Child Care, Infant and Toddler, and Strengthening Families. The Child Care Initiative Project also offers Home Study opportunities for Family Child Care providers and Provider network groups at the South Lake Tahoe and Cameron Park locations.
CPR & First Aid/Preventative Health, Safety & Nutrition Training
Catalyst Community offers EMSA approved Child Care Provider Training that meets the 16 hour Health and Safety Training Requirement. This includes 8 hours of CPR & First Aid and 8 hours of Preventative Health Practices. Each training is provided in an easy-learning, low-stress class environment with hands-on practice to foster confidence building.
Check the calendar for dates and locations. If a convenient class is not available you will be referred to other local resources. We also offer partial reimbursements in some counties for Health and Safety class fees as long as funding lasts.

Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS)
Catalyst Community promote the Quality Child Care Matters Campaign in El Dorado and Alpine Counties. QRIS is a rating and quality improvement program that helps early care and education programs identify areas of improvement and provides the support to enhance the quality of childcare. Our staff provides on-site coaching to participating family childcare providers caring for infants and toddlers. The QRIS program in El Dorado County is named High 5 for Quality.

To support early childhood teachers, the California Early Learning and Development System provides an integrated set of resources based on state- of-the-art information for early learning and development and best practices in early education.
Childcare Licensing Program e-Learning Modules
These modules serve as a tool for childcare providers on how to ensure compliance with licensing laws and regulations, and provide technical assistance related to health and safety of children.
Online Mandated Reporter Training
Beginning January 1, 2018, all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees are required to complete training on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years. Volunteers are encouraged but not required to take the training.
California Map to Inclusion and Belonging
The MAP to Inclusion & Belonging Project (Making Access Possible) develops materials and serves as a clearinghouse of resources and information for individuals, organizations and child care providers about inclusive practices.
Center for Inclusive Childcare
Resources and support to encourage the full and active participation in community activities, services, and programs of all children and their families, whether typically developing, or with special needs.
